Chicago, a Guide to the City
"Chicago is an October sort of city even in Spring!" - Nelson Algren
Hello kids! The last few weeks have been hectic as hell but I finally did something exciting, I visited Chicago! If you're a long time follower it shouldn't be news I'm in love with big cities, the fashion, the colors, the food, the culture, everything about it fascinates me and it feels like second nature to make my way through hundreds of people in a fast paced environment. Coming from a small town in Cuba every time I find myself somewhere exciting like this everything just comes full circle and it makes me appreciate life and how far I've come.
Anyhow, here's a guide of the places I think you should visit if you ever go to Chi town. Scroll down for more!
Where to Stay:
(I stayed here)
This hotel is right in the center of what they call "The Magnificent Mile" basically where all the upscale shops and cool/chic restaurants are. So you definitely want to stay somewhere near this area.
(beautiful rooftop lounge)
Where to Eat:
Giordano's Pizza (best deep dish pizza)
Roka Akor (Best Sushi)
What to See:
Tips:
- The Chicago CTA offers unlimited 3 day passes on public transit. Otherwise there's always Lyft!
- The weather can be extreme in Chicago, so if it's summer it'll be very hot, and if it's winter, pack for freezing temperatures.
- Chicago is famous for its deep dish pizza, so if you're going to give it a try, remember that it'll take at least 45 minutes to cook after you order. It's delicious!
