Why I Spend the Extra Money on Designer Pieces
“I’d rather save my money, and invest in designer pieces”
A few years back, long before I started blogging I was at a photo-shoot modeling for a t-shirt company someone I knew was starting up. After the pictures were taken me and the girl behind the lens went to grab a bite to eat. I thought this girl had the most amazing style, she was so edgy and daring, she lived in New York city and happened to be in town for the shoot. As we ate our meals we started talking about fashion, pop-culture, etc. I can't recall every aspect of the conversation, but at some point she said something that's always resonated with me ever since, "I'd rather save my money, and invest in designer pieces, you get your money's worth"
Her reasoning behind this phrase was no secret to me, designer goods, other than being statement pieces, also last for many years. The quality is superior, and in some cases they even gain value over time!
I'm the type that will pump half a tank of gas and save the extra $20 for a $400.00 Gucci belt.
I've always been drawn to expensive things, and I'm not afraid to spend my money if I really like something, don't ask me why, that's just who I am, I'm the type that will pump half a tank of gas and save the extra $20 for a $400.00 Gucci belt. That's how I choose to live my life lol. I remember being 19 or 20, making minimum wage and buying my first $350.00 Louis (Loo-ee Vit-ahn) wallet, which I still have by the way, 6 years later, it just holds a centimental value to me.
In the recent months I have been treating myself to leather goods, shoes, and the famous Off-White belt every blogger and influencer got their hands on. Some guys collect guns, girls collect make up and shoes, I collect designer. After all I work two jobs, I think I deserve it :)
Thanks for reading guys, before you leave sound off in the comment section below, would you spend the extra buck on designer clothes and accessories? Am I crazy for doing so? I want to know you guys' opinions!
XX till next time. A
